Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026
This page explains what information bachvu.com collects, why, where it goes and how long it is kept. The public site has no visitor accounts, sign-ups or payments, and it sets no cookies.
Who I am and how to contact me
bachvu.com is the website of Bach Vu, a retail and digital transformation consultant based in Canada. I am responsible for the personal information collected through this site.
For any privacy question or request, email hello@bachvu.com.
What is collected and why
- Messages you send me. If you use the contact form, you give me your name, email address, a topic and your message. If you email me directly, I receive your email address and whatever you write. I use this to reply to you and to discuss any work you ask about.
- Standard web server logs. Like most websites, the server that hosts bachvu.com records each request it receives: your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the referring page and your browser’s user agent. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure.
- Page engagement analytics. A small script measures how pages are read, without cookies and without identifying you. Details are in Analytics below.
Nothing else is collected on the public pages.
The free tools
Automation Opportunity Map
Everything you enter in the Automation Opportunity Map (business name, industry, revenue, hourly cost, department scores) is processed entirely in your browser. It is not sent to me or to any server and it is not saved. The Print / PDF button uses your browser’s own print function. When you reset the tool or close the page, your entries are gone.
Meal Plan Generator
The Meal Plan Generator also runs entirely in your browser. Your settings (number of people, goal, cuisine leaning, plan length and the current shuffle) are saved in your browser’s local storage so they are still there next time you visit. They are never sent to me. Copying the plan puts it on your own clipboard.
Signed-in areas
A few pages on bachvu.com are private tools for my own use. They are protected by Google sign-in and only accounts on an approved list can get in. If you reach one of these pages, you are sent to Google to sign in, and Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with the sign-in service.
- If your account is not on the approved list, access is refused and those details are not kept.
- If it is, they are held in a signed session cookie in your browser (see Cookies). They are not stored in a database.
- One of these tools is an AI chat that runs on a model hosted on the same server as this site, not on an outside AI service. Its conversations are kept in your browser’s local storage and are not saved on the server.
Analytics
The public pages use Klimb, our own engagement analytics service, hosted at autana.ca. When you hide or close the tab, the script sends the page path (never the query string), how far you scrolled, how long the page was visible, whether you arrived from a Google results page, and whether you left quickly. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Each page view gets a random ID, and no IP address or user agent is stored with it. Raw page views are kept for 90 days. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, the script does nothing.
Like any web request, the analytics request reaches the autana.ca server through Cloudflare’s network, and that server’s standard web logs record it, including your IP address and user agent (see How long data is kept).
There is no advertising, no tracking pixel and no other analytics on this site.
Fonts
Most pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts. To deliver the fonts, your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and browser details as part of that request.
Service providers
These outside services handle information for the purposes described above:
- FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) delivers contact form messages to my email inbox.
- Google provides that email inbox, handles sign-in for the private areas and serves Google Fonts.
- Amazon Web Services receives email sent to hello@bachvu.com.
- Cloudflare provides DNS for bachvu.com and carries requests to the autana.ca analytics service.
Some of these providers process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.
How long data is kept
- Web server logs: deleted automatically after about two weeks.
- Klimb raw page views: 90 days.
- Sign-in session cookie: up to 30 days in your browser.
- Local storage: stays on your device until you clear it.
- Messages and emails you send me: as long as needed for the purpose they were sent for.
Your choices and rights
- You can turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser to switch off the analytics script.
- You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser at any time.
- You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or withdraw your consent to my using it, subject to legal limits. Email hello@bachvu.com.
If you are not satisfied with how I handle your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
